The Castles

Just next to the campsite, you will find Fénélon Castle, a magnificent feudal fortress. This architectural gem is an unmissable attraction for all lovers of old buildings in Périgord. The beauty, peace and history of this place will transport you to another time.

On Monday evenings in July and August, there is a local farmers' market selling delicious food in a friendly and festive atmosphere.

25 km from the Village of Castelnaud La Chapelle and its castle built on a rocky spur, containing a large collection of weapons and armous, and offering a magnificent viewpoint over the Dordogne. A few kms from there, you can discover its historical enemy, Beynac Castle, Richard the Lionheart's castle at a height of 150 metres, at the top of its own beautiful medieval village.

Why not take the opportunity to ride in a Gabarre, a traditional flat-bottomed boat, on the Dordogne? There is a pier just at the foot of the castle.

Feel like taking it easy after all those war stories? In a magical setting? Not far from there, you can also see the Château des Milandes, once owned by Joséphine Baker, with its magnificent gardens, falconry show, exotic birds and more.
